OFF TO BOOT CAMP

Our son Ray left yesterday to Great Lakes for his boot camp. We are so proud of him and know he will do well. We miss him already, though... We look forward to his Graduation in 9 weeks. I'm glad I found this website it will help me.

PIR - 9 days away

Mara's graduation from Great Lakes is only 9 days away. My wife and I are looking forward to her call after battle stations. I have started gathering directions to the hotel and list of things she requested we take. Everyone in the office is sick with flu. Everyone except me and a couple other people are coughing and sneezing and blowing their noses. I hope I do not get sick for the weekend.

PIR happens!!!

Well we finally got to see our son "Graduate" from Boot Camp on Friday 02/13/09. He was in Group 102, USS Triton. It was a great ceremony, seems to be very long when you are waiting to see your son for the first time in 9 weeks, but the wait is so worth it. A reminder to those who will be attend their childs graduation, be there very early, we arrived at 0715 and the good seats were already taken! MASTER AT ARMS

My son Colin graduated from basic training December 5, 2008. His A school was at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio Texas. He graduates February 20th 2009. He is Master at Arms and will be stationed at Norfolk Virginia. My wife and I are very proud of him as he is himself. He really enjoys being part of the military to serve his country. Update

We finally found out that Craig will be stationed in Lemoore, CA.
He is land based and will be part of the Black Aces. He was happy with these orders.
Now we are waiting to see if he can come home for a quick visit before he travels across the country.

Got A House in Hawaii

After living in Navy housing or a submarine for the past two years, Paul got a house just outside of Pearl Harbor, HI!

He's sharing the house with two shipmates. This way, they actually make money with the housing allowance that they get.

So, now my "little boy" has a BMW Z3 and a house in Hawaii (when he's not under the water). Amazing....

UPDATE

Well lets see Tristan is doing great still in Jacksonville,Fl hes been doing some testing and going to "work" he traded his mustang GT for a 4x4 jeep...welll 3 weeks later he sold it and got a BMW...with in 4 days he "broke" it...was out racing and shifting to hard...lol..as you know this mommy been on his hiney bout the racing..grrr boys and the need for speed....lol...well i cant say much...heheh i did teach him to drive...he is awaiting the arrival of his 2nd lil girl ,due May 2. he will be… Continue

Almost PIR!!!!

We leave tomorrow for G.L. for our son's PIR, driving from South Alabama to the G.L. Training Center. With all the recent past bad weather we decided to drive vs. fly: I will not miss this for anything !!! Jeremy is in Div 102 and it seems more like months (many) rather than weeks since we have seen him. I am a 20+ year retiree of the USCG and have been there and done that, but this business of my only son going through Boot Camp with little communication has been rough at best. My son hasn't written or spoke to me in almost a year; even though I constantly write him every week. Last night I received an email; he had posted pictures on his myspace account. It's A Girl!

Yesterday at 9:07am my granddaughter met the world outside. Her name is Madison Renee, coming in at exactly 8 lbs. and 18 1/2 in. long. Mom and baby are doing very good :). Madison has a head of hair and not sure yet who she resembles, although Mom, Emily, says she has her nose hehehe. Dad, Wes, is all excited, but unfortunately wasn't able to stick around for the birth due to having to return to base by today. I don't know when I will get any pictures. . . hoping by tomorrow sometime!

I'm Going to be a Grandma!!!

I got word yesterday afternoon that my grandbaby is trying to make her debut :). Emily went in the hospital yesterday, they said she was dilating! From what Wes told me they are inducing her labor so I could already be a grandma as I write this :)!! Wow what a miracle and blessing, things have come full circle now, how amazing! I am so excited to hear news - As soon as I know more I will post :).
