Boots in the House, Matt and Becky made it home for Christmas. Might be the last one for 2-3 years, as he reports to his Boat in May/June     12392039_1041823902529304_4342963485635850431_n.jpg

John - my son lived at the Winner's Circle apts with 2 roommates.  Nice place - close to the reactor site.  We visited a couple of times and were pleased with the accommodations.  They are very Navy friendly. Have 1,2 & 3 bedrooms with garage.  Washer/dryer in each unit. They take care of the snow removal on the streets (big plus!).  They are unfurnished though....

John Pekham, Matt has had three rental in his stay at Ballston Spa, the first 2 were furnished homes he shared with 2-3 shipmates, he now has an apartment with his girlfriend.  He went through local Real Estate Agents whom were very helpful, they bend over backwards for our Sailors.......Best of luck to your son..

John, read an earlier post from Nov 9 from Jim, I think. He has some great info on the NY housing question.
By the way, I was at the Power School graduation and it was nice, but the invocations were pretty awesome!

For John Peckham - My daughter was in Ballston Spa last winter. She and her nuke husband lived at The Springs, in Saratoga Springs, maybe 20 drive from the Spa. My wife and I visited a couple of times and I helped them move to Norfolk this year. There were quite a few young Navy that lived there. Not sure if they had furnished apartments, but I know a lot of Navy shared apartments, so your son could probably find a place pretty easy.

Enjoy and value your Christmas with him. You never know the next one that you will have together. Thank you for being part of this group.

Amen. Our Sailor is heading to Guam (his choice) soon. Not sure when we will see him again. I'm hoping to meet him in Hawaii sometime, since that is much less expensive airline tickets for us and he would get to see Hawaii, too, that way. He is already a mature young man, but I'm guessing he will grow up a lot more before we see him again.

Us too, Bob. We attended my son's Power School graduation yesterday and brought him home for Christmas last night. Ballston Spa is his next stop. Does your son have any insights on furnished off base housing for 4 newly minted Nukes?

Looking forward to this Christmas with our Matt. Might be the last one for a while, he ends his assignment as a SPU at Ballston Spa in May. Then he reports to his next assignment on the Boat he wanted, across the country............

Merry Christmas to all of our Sailors, Keep them Safe!
