I am very proud of ever guy and girl that joins the Navy. I know some don't make it through boot camp for whatever reason but the decision they made to join make me proud of what they did. Just after GS went to his team we got word someone in the team died in a accident. After waiting what seemed to be a lifetime we found out GS was OK but a young man from his graduation had died. We met him at graduation plus we met and visited with his parents. I felt like one of my family was now gone, I cannot imagine what you are going through. Like I tell all the great members of this site I have met and talked with, I have here for you and your guy or girl. I have big shoulder and feel free to lean on them. I will listen and if I have any advise I will reply, if I know someone that can help I will contact them or I will just be there for you anytime. I would like to hear about your son, the good times, the memories and the bad times. Sometimes my wife will reply using my account and sometimes she will add to a post, but please know we are both here for you and your family.
Mary, Welcome to NavyDads.com or as I like to say, my Second Family. I'm deeply sorry for your loss. This family will always keep the proud memory of your son alive and in our hearts. It's is a good place now or in the future to lift your spirits or help carry the load during a bad time. Together we have pretty broad shoulders. We're also a source to share pride when that special memory or moment happens. We'll share answers, help you find the best source for information or just listen. Welcome aboard! You're now an important part of an even larger family.

Welcome to the site Mary. I echo the comments from EG and Jim...I cannot fathom the sense of loss and emptiness you must feel. That being said, it places you in a unique position to help other parents deal with the stress and worry about having a loved one in the Navy and perhaps provide some warning signs for others. We hope we can provide you a forum where you can share your feelings and thoughts. Best regards- Paul
