My son just let me know he was at boot camp. He said he had an issue that he could not be entered into DEERS on his own. I reached out to DEERS to have him removed so that he could have his own profile built. I was told that they could not remove him without his verbal consent. Considering that he is in boot camp, this is particularly difficult. Has anyone run into such an issue? If so, what was your fix?

My son just got his first call to his mother.

Says there are 80 in his class, and that he's the "hype man" for his division.

In this context, what does "hype man" mean?

It has come to our attention that the address information the recruits mailed home may have been inadvertently incorrect.

Regardless of the address for either of these divisions that your recruits may have written on the form, the correct address information is as follows:

Any mail sent to the incorrect address will be rerouted to the correct address.

Please Note: We are only making this post for these three divisions because of the discrepancy in the information the families received. The recruits mail home a form letter containing their address and graduation information, which typically takes about two to three weeks to receive.

Thx, for your attention to this dilemma.
Mail timetag:navydads.com,2019-07-09:2150375:Topic:5197312019-07-09T21:38:20.818ZChad Bowershttps://navydads.com/profile/ChadBowers

Hey all. My son left for Great Lakes on June 20. We got his form letter on July 1. Anyone else in Arizona or other western states able to tell me how long it takes for mail sent from these states to Great Lakes? We sent some on the 1st and wonder if he's gotten them yet. We got a letter from him most recently dated the 3rd, and as expected he'd not received them yet.

Thanks ahead of time all!

Can someone point me to information that better explains how Push divisions work?

My wife talked with my son today, who says he was taken from in-processing at medical and pushed forward in training. He was then taken from that division and pushed forward a second time - before he had been on the base a full week. It didn't end well. He's now at ship 5 waiting for separation.

After graduating on Friday, my SR was taken to O'Hare at 0100 (in the morning) on Saturday. Her flight didn't leave until 1250. So, there were a bunch of tired Sailors waiting for their flights. If you are able to do so, I recommend bringing pillows and blankets for sleeping. The USO does not have the room to support that many people all at once so, many ended up sleeping near the gate of their flights. Many of them were just plainly tired, along with family members.
