Yes he had someone else going with him for the same language. His recruiter knew before he went in but like I said it wasn't official till he was in Monterey. I think he actually got a choice of a few once there but don't hold me to that.

Thanks John.  Did your son know of any other CTI's knowing what language before they got to DLI?

I read quite a few posts from CTI's about SR's finding out what Language they were getting in boot but I didnt look at the dates of the Posts so maybe it changed since the Posts were written

My son had a idea before he went to Bootcamp of the language he could get but did not get official word till he got to Monterey. It was the language he was expecting but it really depends on what languages are needed when they get there from what he told me.

I was reading tonight on NAVY DEP from other CTI's that they learn what language they get in Boot.  A female Airman I know also got language while at BMT.

Since when does that happen in bootcamp?

Hi Guys, glad to meet you all.  Was hoping someone can answer this question.  My son, who is signed on as CTI recently arrived at RTC and it doesn't seem like much, if any, of his SSBI has been conducted.  PIR is 27January2017.  Is he likely to get stuck in Ship 05? Thank you in advance

Good morning. My son had his PIR last Friday (4/8) and headed to Monterey on Saturday. I just found NavyDads while in the hotel Thursday night. Looks like a great site.
