Kind words Dennis- don't forget there are a number of faces working to keep NavyDads and the NavyDads FB page humming along! We'll try to keep posting some of those group photos, but realize we all have full time jobs and households and family - time can get scarce!

  • Jim, thanks for the advice. We are not sending clippings, we are copy-n-pasting into our letters.

I don't want to call any attention to her. One of her biggest worries is that fact that her birthday is during boot camp and she did not want to be singled out. I am hoping the family is going to respect her request to not send birthday cards.

She knows to try to keep as low a profile as possible. She had a classmate who graduated boot camp two weeks before she shipped. He sent her a lot of advice and tips to try to lessen the pain.

Good job! I have heard stories of a mom sending a musical card to her son who had a birthday while in boot. The RDC made him dance to the music until the battery died! Oh, that had to hurt!

  • Another great day. Division 238 got to make calls home. We were able to talk to our daughter for 15 minutes. She sounded great and was able to update us on her progress - passed the first two swim tests, boot blister issues, inspections.

She goes for her Nuke physical next week which has her all worried, but I cannot figure out why. Anybody have any insights into what is special about the extra physical that Nukes get?

  • Tony "Skippy" Adams

Heard from my boy today too Dennis. He's in 242, the same division as your daughter. My son is also a nuke but other than mentioned he and another 11 nukes were visited by two either instructors or counsellors from the school, nothing was said about an upcoming nuke physical.

My son is in Division 250. Any photos of that Division yet ? Thanks . Thank you so much for this site Navy Dads.

Received our first phone call from our son today. He said his Division did well on inspection so they all could make calls. He sounds great and very serious and committed .

  • Stephen King

they should post a photo of the division in the 4 week of boot camp. Your son graduate the same day as my wife so it should be in about a week, unless they catch a random photo.

  • Kathy Wright

Thanks, Stephen. I will look for them.

  • NavyDads CoAdmin Jim Gramza

Kathy, now remember that the pictures of the divisions are posted on the RTC Facebook page. Then Paul tries to get them copied here.

  • Kathy Wright

    Thanks, Jim.

KUDOS to the Admin here @ Navy Dad's and a special thanks to RTC Great Lakes for allowing the taking and posting of these pictures.  I wish you guys and this program were around 30 years ago.

    HI All!
My son is in the DIV 937. I was hoping to chat with parents who have recruits in this division. His PIR is on July 22.
