I'm the mother of 2 future sailors! My daughter is in Bootcamp right now and my son leaves for Bootcamp on Mar14. I'm looking forward to all the Navy has to offer my kids and what they can do for our Great Country.
I'm married to my wonderful husband, Steve, for 21 yrs and we are about to be empty-nesters. Looks like 2011 will be an interesting year, to say the least. Looking forward to meeting more family members.

What Were Your Feelings When Your Sailor Joined The Navy:
I was very happy for them. I know it is hard out there to find a job and the Navy is investing in them. I'm so thankful. I can't wait to see how the Navy will change them and make them so much better than they ever dreamed.

The recruiters told me about Navy4Moms, and then I just looked up the NavyDads site myself. I may have seen it in a post though, I don't remember.
I'm just happy you are here and there is so much info out there. It's very helpful to find out what our kids are going through by the other members. (we are still waiting for her letter...)
Cyndi, Welcome to NAVYDADS. My Grandson joined the Navy and went to Boot Camp in February, 2008. When I joined I knew nothing about the Military and this site has really helped me understand what to expect and has relieved some of the worries I had. Please go to the Groups Page and check out of the different Group and join in to learn more about what your Guy or Girl will be learning and doing. We are a big family here and you can find answers to most any question you may had regarding what is in store for your recruit. You will find others that are new to the Navy along with those that have Loved Ones that has been in for some time. We like to hear about your recruit the good times, the concerns and the question. I think you will find that our member are just a great big family and everyone wants to help others understand what to expect and hear how your recruit is doing.
Please feel free to ask question.
Again Welcome and keep us updated of your recruit’s progress.
