I should have started posting here a couple of months ago but wanted to leave this note of encouragement that God does answer prayers.  Our son had been on medical hold in the THU in GL waiting for clearance for Nuke school and sub duty.  Although as late as Friday he had a negative interview experience re his sub duty waiver, we and our friends surrounded him with prayer and this morning (Monday) he got confirmation that his waiver was approved and he's now waiting for orders to go off to A school!  All the points we prayed for were answered.  He even got the answer right away when we thought it would be weeks more.  I know that sometimes the answer we get to prayer is wait, or no, but God does answer prayer and our sons and daughters need us to keep praying for them!

What an awesome report Jon. I'll be in prayer for her OC. It goes by quickly. The anticipation can be the worst part. Let us know how it goes.

Just want to give a praise report for my daughter's successful completion of boot camp.  It was a blessing to hear her say that she could feel the prayers and that she knows that it was God that gave her the strength to make it through.  Now she has moved on to San Antonio for MA school and we're on our knees again for the upcoming OC Spray (pepper spray) that she will have to pass.  Thank you to everyone for praying and I will continue to pray for you.

My prayers are with the families of the 7 Marines who were killed in a training explosion in Nevada today.

Just a note: If any of your Sailors are being affected by the Sequester, concerning Tuition Assistance, we got word today that Park University out of Missouri is offering free tuition ( I believe it may be in the form of a scholarship), as well as waiving registration fees for our men and women in uniform. Didn't know if it would be of any help for you all to know, but anything that helps should be passed on.

This leaves me with a heavy heart.  My uncle, that I never met, died in the same fashion.  I'm so sorry for the families.

Steven will find his path, God will be there with him.  There is a purpose behind this experience and it may be years down the road before he sees how God's plan played out. We are never put on a straight path with Him, there are twists and turns, but it is our faith in Him that keeps us steady.   Prayers for you and your family

Thank you to everyone for the awesome words. Our Lord is in charge and sometimes our plans get in the way of His. I am exceedingly proud of my son and all the men and women in our military. God bless all of you for taking the time to write.

Hey Steven, My son was a BUDs drop as well.  There is something about BUDs that breathes into our sons NEVER to be average again and NEVER allow anyone to tell them that they cannot DO something.  Regardless of where the Lord takes your boy, he will succeed and be amazing. I struggled with that when MY son was dropped, but he is doing well and, you know WHAT, he is in a safer place.  Thank you for your son's service and his dedication.  Prayers going out to you and your family...
