RSS Will be the most challenging portion of the pipeline. As far as physical and mental stress go. Once he get's through that he will know that he can literally accomplish anything. SERE will be tough mentally too, but my son said it's just a mental game. It's nothing like RSS at all. So when he gets through RSS, the rest of it will be smooth sailing as long as he keeps his nose clean, studies and works hard. Congratulations on his progress so far! You should be very proud.

Pensacola was great. Tyler likes it there. Went to Aircrew graduation and the CO gave out the certificates and he was great. He has one more week of "pre-load" and then "classes" up to RSS. I have been confused on how all this works but I am learning. The whole pipeline is still nerve racking.

Oh yeah Pensacola was fun . If you get some time go visit them at Pensacola , check out the National Naval Aviation Museum and the Home of The Blue Angels . Many Historic sites there also . SERE they can't talk anything about it , it's just that way and I have to say get used to it . Chris right now is spending a month in Hawaii training Marines and enjoying Tropical Storm Darby  .

Pretty soon he'll be off base all the time. RSS will be tough, mentally and physically, but it wont be as restrictive as boot camp. they'll rotate weekend duty, but for the most part it's going to be more like being in college than boot camp.

Ya, he said they took a 4 mile run to the beach last week, his 1st week, and got to get into the water. Then the sun was going down and told them to get out because bull sharks come out. I can't wait until he gets all the way through the pipeline. There is always that question. That messing with their heads seems to be a common deal.

Ours just finished SERE school last week. He called the next day saying "I found a new barber and I'm buying a car. I'll send you pictures and details before I sign anything." I had to ask "How was SERE"....."Oh. It was fine. They just screw with you a lot, but it's nothing hard. Talk to you later." That's my son for you.

Dale, within no time at all he's going to be on the sands of Pensacola Beach every weekend. Roaming around downtown Pensacola with his friends and not feeling like he's in boot camp at all.

My wife has gotten calls from our sailor since he has been in Pensacola. He likes it there, although humid, some of it is still like boot camp but the place is nice, good food, and it sounds like those guys when they get there help each other out to gain more liberty. It fact it is so much better that I told my wife maybe he doesn't need so many texts etc. LOL!
