My son has completed 'A' school in Meridian, MS and is awaiting orders for his first duty station. He's also awaiting leave so he can come home for the holidays. His research has turned up 3 methods for getting from the base to the airport in Jackson, MS: (1) Take a taxi ($300), (2) Take the shuttle (requires minimum 30 riders), (3) Take taxi from base to Greyhound station, then bus to Jackson.
Does anyone have any ideas for other/better/less expensive modes of travel?

My son is leaving on 20 Dec and has to return on 29 Dec. He plans to take the most expensive option (#facepalm) which is taxi from base to Jackson airport. I will tell him to check the Liberty Center sign ups. He has to leave base at 1600 and his plane in Jackson takes off at 1907, so that might be part of the problem (tight on time).
We just found out from our son that there is a bus sign-up in the Liberty Center. He hasn't gone to sign up yet so we don't know anymore details. He's going over there tomorrow after work to see what it is about.
Hi Vaughn, our son Ian is leaving out on Xmas Eve headed to Jackson Airport also. His flight leaves at 12:00 noon. When and what time is your son leaving, maybe they can share a shuttle. He is due back at 11:30 on 2 Jan. let me know if this may work for you.
