  • Hi CDS, my son went through a few years back, and they gave his class leave Christmas Week. I don't recall there being any question, but it was a couple of years back.

  • As you know with the NAVY, everything is fluid and the timeframe for leave can change also up to the very last day.....

  • Anyone have a SO in Class 335 heading to Coronado next week? Just wondering if you have heard about taking leave for the holidays. Mine says there are 2 different weeks he may be coming home...

    Thanks

  • I hear you.  This job our sons have chosen is like no other job.  We managed to have a get together last summer with west coast parents. That's another issue not only are we all over the map we are divided by coasts.  One of the groups we support  is the America's Mighty Warriors Foundation and they had a great week last July in Coronado and it was great to have so many families in the same room.

  • Hi Greg, The Site is very low volume, I guess we are a bunch of closed mouthed guys here, OPSEC and PERSEC, and all. There is the occasional query and flurry of answers, then it is silent again. Personally, I wish there were a way for parents to connect locally.

  • Great, thanks for the info.

  • Greg- unlike N4M, NavyDads is totally self funded and is run by a dedicated admin cadre.  We have no intentions of shutting down!

  • Is this still an active site?  Heard that the site for moms changed over from the Navy to a private sector to monitor.  ??  Now it has been shut down without warning.  Just wondering if anyone has heard that this site is being handled the same way?    (I have not been active here for a long while.  Recently retired and have more time to connnect.  Son has been on the teams for a while)

    Thanks.

  • Anyone have a son or daughter in Ship 4, Div 819 with PIR date on Sept 2nd? I built a group for that group. Please feel free to join so we can share info...

Seeking advice

Hi, I’m a woman in her 20s and I’m training to become a U.S. Navy SEAL. What advice would you give for women that want to be SEALs? If you had to go to BUD/S again, how would you prepare differently? What books or workout programs would you recommend? Most female SEAL candidates struggle with carrying the boats and logs, doing pull ups, having grip strength and completing the “Dirty Name” on the obstacle course. Also, a lot of female SEAL candidates break their legs or develop stress…

Any SWCC Dads here?

Wow! It's been 5 years since I've posted here. Since graduation my son has become a SAR (Search and Rescue Swimmer) and is now in SWCC training. Hope to hear from someone whose son/daughter is either a SWCC sailor or is presently in training.

East Coast PSTs

Just wondering... Is anyone aware of active and current (or within the last month) PST training happening at Little Creek for in-fleet candidates?  Anyone with first hand knowledge would be great... Thanks
