As for your son, he should get an email address upon checking into his new command. Usally it will be his first.last @navy.mil ex: (joe.smoketelly@navy.mil), and yes he will be able to recieve and send at sea depending on the mission of the Boat. And as far as posting info about the Boat its probably not a good idea as far as times dates and areas of destinations. It comprimises OPSEC ( Operationnal Security) we never know who's watching these days! Tell me his first name and I'll see if I can find his address on global..
