Calls from boot camp. Question?

does anyone know the calling procedure for recruits ? Do we need to send them a calling card or do they have phones they get to use when they are given their chance to call home. Any feedback is appreciated? Thanks Patrick Clarke

Our son (PIR 10/17/14) was given a calling card at boot-camp. He made numerous calls on it.

    They gave it to the recruits on the fist day at RTC.

They can purchase calling cards. They use payphones when allowed to call by their RDC's. You are only guaranteed 2 calls..."I have arrived....and I am a US Sailor".....anything else is a reward granted to the Division!
