I read where there may be some difference to the different divisions. A higher number means the division is better? I really have not heard about this, can someone fill me in.
You need to be a member of Navy Dads to add comments!
The number system goes up as new divisions are added. If someone was is in division 320 they would have started training before division 340. There is some overlap as they start several division at each training cycle. All 800 divisions contain Navy SPEC OPS which include SEAL's, Navy Divers, EOD & Special Boat Operators. All 900 divisions contain band and related skills members .
well paul I can tell you what I know about the numbers on the Divisions (which mind you is limited). I do know that the 900 divisions are the performance divisions. They consist of the band and the marchinng band. this division is drilled more on the Marching and timing of their march as they are the ones that you will see more of at PIR doing marching. The 800 divisions from what I understand are the seal divisions. as far as the other divisions I do not know what he numbers mean for thm. I hope that this helped a little and maybe someone else will come along with some info on the other divisions.

The "800" series (starting at 801 each year) and "900" series (starting at 901 each year) aren't better, just different.
The 800's are SEALS, EOD, etc, and the 900's are drill teams, band, color guard, etc.
