Happy Presidents Day, all. My son has applied for assignment to an aircraft carrier. He has asked me to find out what I can about what personal possessions he can keep aboard. For instance, would he have room for a laptop? As is the case for most folks in their 20's, he is quite attached to his computer.

There is limited space but he should be able to stash a laptop. There is limited availability of outlets for charging, but he has to remember that there may be very limited internet time available. Many of the carriers have had upgrades to networking systems and I'm not sure how internet access is now- there was virtually none in '08 and '09 when my daughter and son were on cruise. Of course with the budget crisis they may sitting in port all the time so things might be different anyway....
