Tom,
Welcome on board. My son Arnell is in Norfolk, VA and works on nuclear reactors on aircraft carriers. He just had a baby girl, six months old. I haven't met her mom, Michelle or Granddaughter Yuna. They were to come out to San Francisco Area, but I got diagnosed with malignant Prostate Cancer. They did a whole body scan and didn't find the cancer spreading to bones, lymph nodes or vital organs. I am scheduled to have surgery on May 9. My son is gonna schedule another trip toward the Xmas holidays so that the Tajiri, Louie, Bautista and Rubio families can meet and greet them.
I am proud of my son doing such a great job in the Navy. It's the greatest decision to sign up. The Navy has trained him and he would become a productive citizen when he completes his stint with great honor, especially after he got book smart and has grown up and is more mature through this process.
I could take a bit of the credit, because I have taken Arnell and his younger brother Angelo, when I had regular visitations to tour submarines, tour of Carl Vinson carrier when it was brought to San Francisco Bay Area, and the carrier moored in San Diego.
I'm sure you will have a lot on your plate, and we look forward to your contribution in this important mission.
