Professional achievement in the superb performance of his duties while serving as Detachment One Lead Aviation Structural Mechanic and Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative in Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron 37 from August 2011 to October 2014. Petty Officer Corona's exceptional technical skill and superb work ethic was critical in leading 14 Maintainers on the completion of over 1,600 maintenance discrepancies, seven 546-day inspections, and 32 phase inspections on 10 SH-60B and 10 MH-60R aircraft. Additionally, he assisted in the maintenance effort for eight aircraft returning from depot level planned maintenance intervals and ensured ready-for-tasking helicopters were available in minimal time. His tremendous discipline and dedication to safety led to the accomplishment of 2,954 maintenance man-hours directly impacting the Squadron's ability to achieve 100,000 mishap-free flight hours. His attention to detail was essential in the successful management of the Hydraulic Contamination and Corrosion Control Command Programs and resulted in both programs being graded "On Track" during the 2013 CNAF AMI. Petty Officer Corona's exceptional professionalism, unrelenting perseverance, and loyal devotion to duty reflected credit upon himself and were in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service.
