We got our first contact with our sailor today: we received the "kid in a box"
I know there was some piss-off. Three things, including his Bible, that he was told he could bring were in the box. He doesn't take well to promises broken. My daughter, Army, assures me the first thing you learn in basic is that the recruiters lied.
We can't get in touch with the recruiters to get am address for him, and his cat has written a letter that needs to be mailed: and that's darned hard with no thumbs.
You need to be a member of Navy Dads to add comments!
I got a good laugh about your comment regarding the cat writing a letter. While my son was at bootcamp a few months ago, we had his Dog write him a letter. He got a good laugh at that letter. You should be getting "the form letter" from him any day now with his address and PIR info. It's good that you have a letter ready to go. It really lifts their spirits when they get mail.
