Last night I was in my living room getting ready t watch a new documentary on the National Geography channel. A couple of days before, I watched the trailer for this show and I was impressed by the combat footage shown from the battles in Afghanistan. The documentary is titled “RESTREPO”. This documentary is about an Army unit that goes thru the worst to defend their outpost. I have seen many war movies and documentaries from WWII, Korea, Vietnam and others and I have always respect our service men and woman for their sacrifices for our country. But when you watch this documentary it make you feel like you’re part of that unit, like you’re in the actual battlefield with them. Thanks to today’s technology, the view and the sound of this documentary is very impressive. I felt every shoot, every scream, their laughs and their cries. Seen our young soldiers (someone’s son, father or brother) fighting against the Taliban with their hearts and souls, defending our Nation with their lives and seen how they cope with their necessities, away from home, from their love ones and no matter what they go thru, they manage to find time to be what they are “young boys” who are giving their lives for something that they believe is right. After watching this documentary, my respect for the service men and woman of this country has grown stronger. I salute each one of our sons and daughters and I pray God, that he continue blessing and protecting each one of them.
