My son had his PIR on Dec 12 and shipped off to A school in MO on the 13th. It was great seeing him with that huge grin and with his chest stuck out. He earned it. Got to A school and they didnt do much that week being as though it was before the holidays. H was hoping to be able to come home. Well, God bless the navy because they sent him, them actually, home for the break...for 2 weeks! That was the good part. The bad part was that he was home for 2 weeks. Saw his friends and spent a lot of time with his girlfriend who is also home from college. He had the car and some cash. He got real comfortable. So much so that he had a real hard time leaving all over again. I had to "suck it up sailor" him but once he got back he was starting to unfog a bit, get back to normal. Now he understands why when we used to got on weeklong vacations, he would hear us say "ok, it's getting close to time to go home now. This is getting too good!"
