I made it safe phone calls January 10

My son left for boot camp today.  We last got a text from him when he was at Ohare.  We have not received his quick made it there phone call tonight. 

 

Has any one else gotten a call today ?  Do we know if there are issues ?  is it unusual not to get those calls made ?  I have read many times and places there are 2 calls we are guaranteed ... made it safe and I'm a sailor ... does the made it safe call sometimes not get made?

    yes, that why it is almost impossible to answer the question "what is Junior doing on day 27" for instance...things change as RDCs and needs change

    yes thanks ... I also have several friends with kids having gone through ... seems to vary heavily!  we were happy to get the call

    call finally did come in at almost 1:30 am ... must have had them busy! it was the very scripted variety he could not even respond to anything we said ... 35 seconds in total!  but nice to hear from him.

     My daughter shipped out on Monday when didn't get the call until around 2330 hrs.

    patience......that call can be VERY late...and yes, if there are phone issues you may not get the call.  If there is a problem you'll be notified
