I was wondering if anyone has any information on "A" school in San Antonio (Master at Arms). My son graduates from basic on July 8th and heads there. We only live about an hour and a half from there and he older brother lives close by.
One. What is there week routine during training?
Two. Leave time off base while there?
I heard he does training Monday thru Friday and off on weekends. Also heard that the first week or so there he is not allowed off base. As the weeks go by he builds up time off from a few hours to more time away. Is this correct? We would like to spend some time with him on weekends or possibly him come home or go to his brothers.
Another thing. If he is allowed to go off base could I bring him his truck for him to drive while there? Can he get his cell phone back?
Any information would be appreciated.

That is what I heard. Just wanted to verify it with someone here. Can't find anywhere on the Navy website that talks about this only the training. Thanks again
Tom,
Who runs the Navy Outfitters website? I know it is someone on here. I ordered two caps and a candle about 2 weeks ago. Received the candle but not the caps. Sent an email but no one would respond. Plus I don't have a tracking number or any idea when they are getting here. There is no communication with company other than the one email and no one responds. If you know of this person or people can have them contact me about the whereabouts of the caps. 361-799-9077
Thanks,
Jason Andrews
Training runs Mon-Fri. Sailors may have watch during the weekend. Understand that he is still in Training. Sailors begin to earn back privileges over time. This is known as "phasing up"; The use of electronics and cell phones.....ability to wear civilian clothes when off duty....evening's liberty which will eventually extend to an overnight. These are fresh Sailors and the Navy is very careful about unleashing them. I would forget about the truck until he gets his final orders. He won't be allowed to have it at A School. Communication will be much more open, so you can coordinate with him when the time comes.
