Military travel

Our sailor, like many others, does not like to wear any type of uniform while going through the airport. Most airports that he has been througj do not allow military personnel through the pass lane dedicated tp them wothout being in uniform. Why is that? Do you know of any onr makimg a push to to airlines to right this oversite?

  • when I traveled with my son after return from cruise in '09 (Norfolk to Tucson via Chicago) there were no pass lanes for him to use even though he was in whites.....he had to go through security just as I did.  Matter of fact, at Norfolk he was in the last group allowed to board on a Southwest flight to Chicago and we ended up separated by several rows on the flight.  Guidance from command also suggests flying in civilian clothes.
