My son flew out from jacksonville fl. on feb 11 @ 5:10 pm My wife had the call at almost midnight she said he sounded tired and was reading from a scrip. He said he is safe and ok. Now we just wait for the next call.
There is a lot of first time activities for him plane ride, he's never seen snow, and never been away from home other then an overnight with a friend.
He told me that he will be fine because he is doing this for a reason, So it dont mater what they ask him to do.
I guess it bothers me more with him gone. Thanks for this site I can read and get an idea of what hes doing. I am an old army guy and I donk know a thing about the navy other then being with him for 4 years in the navy JROTC in high school.
Thanks guys
Jim

My Son left on 1/28, beside the I got here safe I have gotten a phone call every Saturday. I miss him dearly but it sounds like he is doing good. They are hard on them but also know that they need to communicate with outside world somewhat so do expect those calls any time. Best of luck
watch these videos and you can get an idea of what he is going through: http://www.navydads.com/forum/topics/return-to-bootcamp
