My son is engaged?

Hello,

I got an email from my son saying he is engaged. He sent me some photos and, I told him  congrats. Ok  now  IO am awake. I am not sure how to broach the subject without alienating my son. I know he was inexperienced before he left. I expected him to gain experience in the nNavy  but I wil;l be honest I am a little shocked by  the marriage engagement. Neither he or the girl have even went to school yet.I am trying to process  this and figure out why he would jump into this, as he had  only a couple girlfriends. Could it be if they get married they would be stationed together? Also. has anyone else gone through this before?   thanx for any comments    GOD BLESS OUR  SOLDIERS AND SAILORS

My only suggestion is to wait until after A school to get married. They can request billets together, but it's not a guarantee.

I know that you don't want to start a rift between you and your son, but just let him know that from our experience, don't rush into marriage while trying to get acclimated to Navy life.
