Its kinda funny my daughter left Feb 7nth. I thought to myself I will help her and write everyday, thinking this would be difficult .....not a snow balls chance in --LL. I am hitting that mail box every day like clockwork and I am starting on the next days letter already! LOL God bless our future sailors.
Been working a lot of Nights but I have managed to get some news
It seems that recruits are being sent home for trivial medical problems at times, the explanation has been they Navy has too many even recruits, and need to cut people?
I'm sorry if anyone here has had their CHild sent home, it really sucks
My son is still there but there are 2 weeks to go.
We made sure he was aware of how easy it is for him to be sent home, I know he does not want to leave but to succeed.
Also
He said in a letter to his wife he is not getting letters? We send one 6/7 days a week so we are at a loss
My son shipped on Teusday William and we received his box today ! I am hoping I get his form letter with his address just as quick. I have begun to write letters daily and numbering them on my IPad so when I get the official address I can send my sailor mail . Wish your son luck from my family . Stay strong ! One dad to another !
you or rather your daughter in law will get the "sailor in a box" and a short form letter...and that is it for about 3 to 4 weeks. It's tough, but there is reason in the way the Navy proceeds with our future sailors. Remember the mantra (not "on old Olympus' towering top.....") but "No News is Good News".
