Navy Boot Camp bank accounts

Here's the situation. My daughter is 17 and will be into A school before shes 18. USAA was recommended for banking but we just got off the phone with them. They won't open an account for anyone under 17. How did you parents with 17 year olds handle this?

  • I don't see anyone answering you. However I checked and there is several, Navy Federal locations in Pensacola. Navyfederal.com
  • I agree with Navy Federal. My son opened an Armed Forces Bank account. I believe the last time he saw one was in Great Lakes over two years ago. None in Pensacola, none in Whidbey Island and none in Hawaii. Actually we opened an account at home to start.
  • USAA is a good bank. I have had USAA for most of my life and will call them to verify their enrollment criteria tomorrow morning. However if they will not work with you and your daughter, you may want to looking into Navy Federal. Navy Federal has a bank on every US Navy base.
