Navy Bootcamp

We just arrived home from a 2300 mile round trip adventure to Great lakes for PIR 04-17-15.  If there is anyone that has just seen their son or daughter off and have a head full of questions like I did a little over 2 months ago feel free to contact me and I will tell you what I learned and how I coped with it. It all turned out great!  I don't like to give unwanted advice ,the family I gained and got to know the last couple of months made it much easier and we all learned together!

  • If you're looking for something a bit more upscale to take your graduate to, I took my son to Froggy's French Cafe in Highwood last year (10 miles south of RTC); not only was the food superb, but the owner went above and beyond to honor him.

  • Thank you,

We will be up there this weekend. I am sure local restaurants are packed on Friday nights...  did you or anyone else travel outside the local surroundings for a place?  I am not referring to exceeding the allowable radius for the graduates.  Were reservations required...  recommendations?

    Thanks.

  • That's what I'm talking about !!
  • There is one right across from the Marriott near Sarge's place....we hit it twice....LOL!

  • I can't really speak for anyone else. My son wanted to go to Buffalo Wild Wings. There is one not 10 minutes from base. We arrived there about 5 pm and had no issues being seated. There were several other sailors there that had just graduated also. Can't go wrong with hot wings. :)
  • Aye, Aye !!
