  • @ Jim glad to hear your Recruit got all the information that you both needed. The process can seem a bit un organized at times but if one is Proactive things iron out pretty well! My S.R. is finishing up Hell Week and we are counting down the days to P.I.R. Thank Your Son for his service! Proud Navy Dad.

  • Hi Tom...Thanks.  It did go well.  The MEPS office was finally able to get in touch with a different recruiter who was handling his transport up to Maine.  We spent the previous night with him and took him to dinner before he went to the hotel to get ready for his early morning wake up.  He gave us the "standard" midnight call to let us know he was there and that his sailor in a box will be coming in the next few weeks and his next phone call at the end of his 3rd week.  He sounded good!  Better than I thoughthe would.  There is a video on this site that I believe really helped himout and get prepared for  what was ahead in the next few days.  Highly recommend it.

  • Unfortunately my sons recruiter is away.  She told him before she left that the NC1 will be taking him up to MEPS but he was a no show at last Thursday's training and we have not been able to get in touch with him.  We have left several messages with the recruiter and the Portsmouth Recruiting office.

Thanks for the address Tom.   I will give them a call and get some details.

  • I think that you mean the MEPS office...

    Portland Federal Building

    510 Congress St

    3rd Floor

    Portland, Me

His Recruiter should take him there. Have your son call the office!

  • We had to drive our son to the state DEP office when he shipped off.  Get in contact with his recruiter.

  • My son worked directly with his recruiter for DEP arrangements. Most of the time he drove and reported to the Navy recruiting office at our local mall for his weekly DEP schedule and other times his recruiter picked him up from home for one reason or another.

Your son's recruiter should have all of this information...
