My daughter just shipped out on Dec. 15th. I was just wondering about when should I expect a phone from her and how soon should I start bugging her recruiter for her address? Thanks!

That's really cool! I finally got a letter from my daughter yesterday! I was so excited. I've been trying to write everyday. She was really homesick and the holidays didn't help out any. Just looking forward to her next letter. Wish you well and congrats on your son, you must be very proud. God Bless.

That Navy Lodge is still quite a way from base (think about 2 miles) and don't think they have shuttle service, though you could probably arrange for a taxi.  And this is the only Navy Lodge where you sailor does not need to make your reservations....you do need to tell them though that you are there for PIR.  Note we have a Lodging Guide discussion we started in the PIR group with reviews and there is some mroe info there I believe about the Navy Lodge.

Mario-  I don't know what your plans may be for PIR, but if you plan to drive on base (and we recommend you take a shuttle from your hotel) you will need a parking pass that can be downloaded from the RTC website. To do that you will need the password that will be on the form letter you'll get so don't discard that letter!

Everything she took with her that she can't keep, gets shipped back to you. Then will come a letter from her with address. It's usually a form letter and she is allowed to write a few lines. Then It will be about 3 weeks or so before she can call home for a longer call. I would wait till at least after the weekend for her address if you're going to contact the recruiter. I would call him Monday after noon. Right now she is going through "P" days. Processing days. All the things she needs to get settled. It take a few days to establish a division.

Make sure that you join the Boot Camp group. There are all kinds of links in the masthead so you can learn all about boot camp. Even a training schedule.

it usually takes about 3 days for processing, but I would call her recruiter and ask if he has her ship and division number.  With that you can look up addresses at RTC Addresses and start to write.  Other than the "I'm here" call, the "sailor in a box" and the form letter, you probably will not hear anything for about 3 weeks.
