New Nukes from 6-6-2014 PIR

Interested in keeping in touch with parents of the great young men and women from this PIR group who are now at Nuclear Propulsion School. What will they be doing when they arrive? When does classroom instruction start? We were able to entertain 3 other Nukes on Saturday and could not help but notice how bright and eager to learn and please these  guys were. Adopt-a-Sailor at PIR is a tremendous gift to all parents.

  • Post As, I found that the Nukes group was very helpful.  I certainly learned a lot from the other parents. Because they spend so much time in school there will be a group of you who kind of team up together.  My son spent most all of his time before being sent to the fleet in GC which he (and I) loved.  Charleston is a lovely place to spend some time.  He is now in WA on a boomer so I hope to get up there this summer after this patrol.

  • I "bumped" the discussion "Your Sailors schedule upon arrival to GC" in the nuke group discussion forum.  Also take a look at the "Surviving Nuke School" discussion in the same group.  Both have good info for you and will explain what they will be doing and the time frame for each school, etc.  This should answer some of your questions!

  • Post As - so happy you have a sailor!  BZ to him!!  Now the fun really begins.....
