one more day with my son

its sunday morning and i have been up all night. my son leaves to his hotel today. tomorrow, at 9:30 am, he will get sworn in. i have been a wreck, but im trying not to show it. i know my son is going to be ok, but i'm just going to miss him. last night, before he went to bed, i walked into his room to tell him goodnight. as soon as i did, i ran to him and hug him so tight. he grabbed my hand and told me that he loved me. just then, it really hit me. i'm not gonna be able to hug him anymore. at least for a while. i'm trying so hard to be strong, but i can't. i know in time, i will be ok. sean, i am so so proud of you. i cant wait to see what kind of man you will become. i am so blessed to have you as a son...........i love u

    Eddie,
I understand what you and your family are going through. We are also a very close family and enjoy spending time with each other and extended family and friends. It is tough to let go, but they are ready. Time does fly, although it may not seem that way the first few weeks. Our son's swearing in was on September 16. You will see the beginning of change in your son at that point. We received the call from our son this past Friday letting us know that he is now a Sailor in the US Navy. We will be attending his PIR next week. If your son was as excited as our's in joining, he will do just fine. I wish you and your family the very best and thank your son for the path he is about to undertake in the service of our country. Buena Suerte!
