I was wondering if there is parking outside the gates of the base. I was looking at google maps and it look as though there is a small lot just outside the entrance. Are these for public use?

there is parking at the Metra lot just off base, but the Navy recently built a large parking facility very close the drill hall for parking for PIR on base.
