Hello our New Navy Families!
Does anyone have a SR graduating 3/11/2016? I would really like to connect with other family members who are looking forward to celebrating with our new Sailors!
You need to be a member of Navy Dads to add comments!
My daughter will be graduating at that time. She is in ship 02 Div 918. She will be participating in the ceremony with the band. I can't wait to see her perform.
We just received our first letter today and i can't tell you how happy/emotional i am. He said he is fine and cant wait to see us on 3/11/16. He thanked us for all the parenting and love and support we have given him growing up and to keep writing him! Hopefully we will get that phone call this weekend!
You two are starting to understand life as a Military parent! Hang tough! They are getting your letters so have faith! We've all gone thru this and believe it or not....survived! You will too! When you see them march into Midway Ceremonial Hall for PIR it will all be worth it!
Hi Paul,
I'm trying to understand that concept of "No news is good news" this is much more difficult than I ever imagined !
I just continue to write him letters and soon enough I will hear from him ; )
Hotel/flights booked, just wishing that February flies by....
Do not over-expect communication. The toughest thing for the RDC's the first few weeks is dealing with the recruits homesickness.....lack of comms is all part of the plan. along week 3-4 you usually get a "I'm still alive phone" - that call is earned AND LOST as a division. And it takes several weeks for the recruits to start writing.....they can only do that Sunday afternoons and many spend that time studying....
Keep the faith and you must learn that the phrase "No News is Good News" is really true!
Hello Phillip,
I have not heard from my son either... anxiously awaiting his call or letter.
I'm not handling this no communication very well, miss my son dearly. Very proud of him, but definitely missing his voice..
WE HAVE A SON ON SHIP 14 DIV 118 AND IS GRADUATING 3/11/16. We have not heard from him since he got to boot camp. We are hoping for a phone call or letter very soon. You are the first i have spoken with THE SAME PIR DATE
