Question about care packages for troops

Hello, I cannot find the information I had on this, so I need to ask:  How does one go about getting care packages or cards to troops overseas who cannot be home for the holidays or otherwise may not have family?  For example, is it possible to send a package/card to a specific sailor?  I thought the USO did something like this?

I will be sending my son packages, of course, but I think it would be wonderful to do something like that for another sailor as well. You know, those random acts of kindness.

Is anyone familiar with any sailor.com?

Thank you in advance for your help

  • Operation Gratitude is one which does packages.

So is Anysailor, which has sailors sign up to receive packages to distribute to their division/work center.

Molly's care packages is great too.

Also look for "holidays for heroes".

You usually need to go through one of these types of programs, as anonymous packages are not allowed anymore for security purposes.  There are quite a few, but each has some type of rules pr program.

  • the USO site: https://www.uso.org/

you might have to root around, but they always have care package programs for the holidays
