This came out on 12/01/09. I am sorry to hear this kind of news but I would like to extend my sincearest condolences to the family and friends of this sailor. I did not know this young man nor his family but i do have some ties to this ship as this is the ship that my son Trevor is assigned to and is currently on his way to join up with. My thoughts and prayers are with this family in their time of need. Subject: Rentz Sailor Dies My Dearest Rentz Families, As you all heard by now we lost a Sailor EN3 David Mudge on the Rentz. A terrible accident. He was electrocuted. The family has been notified. EN3 Mudge, who transferred from the McClusky. He has become permanent part of our ships company just recently. He was executing orders, and doing his job. He was on duty the night that he died. From the CO viewpoint, "He was respected and well liked by all who knew him." The ship will do a memorial service once they leave the gulf and have cleaner waters. They intend to lay a wreath. As one can imagine, the crew is dealing with it in different ways. Some of you want to send Flowers, cards. I will see what I can do to get this done. My heart is with everyone of you as a Mother, and Wife and an Ombudsman. As well as with the wonderful family of David Mudge.
