My daughter is currently serving at Great Lakes Naval Base at the hospital. She says the transportation is to and from areas of the base are terrible. Have to car-pool, share a ride or get the duty driver. We are thinking of sending her a car from home -PENNSYLVANIA. Any recommendations on doing this? Car is in my name and she is covered under my insurance policy. If we send the car will she be able to register with the base, get the base decals and use the car? Any help would be appreciated.

I was thinking about driving my son's truck to the graduation. He'll be staying at Great Lakes for school and I think the truck would be something helpful while he's there for the next year. I'm waiting to hear from him, but bootcamp letters are short and infrequent. Does this pose a problem? When I was going to school in Millington Tennessee I had a car the whole time - but that was over thirty ago. I'm just wondering if they allow vehicles for the Sailors going to school.
