Anyone else with a recruit in this division? I received a phone call from my daughter yesterday, I wasnt expecting it as her mother was supposed to get the next one after a couple of weeks - she called me when she first arrived at recruit training. She couldnt get ahold of her yesterday. At any rate what a pleasant surprise. She said she's in a push division, what exactly does that mean? And she said she was a recruit religious petty officer? Said she was doing fine, but was majorly homesick. I managed to get her head back to where it needs to be before she had to hang up.

My son called us yesterday. First my wife and then me. He said he had ten minutes. It was great to hear from him. He didn't come right out and say it but I can tell he's a little homesick. Of course we miss him too. In my letters I have been telling him about various runs I've been going on and he said he really misses going with me. We're looking forward to doing more of that in the future.
We got two letters from our recruit yesterday. They were both positive and informative. He indicated that something was wrong with their mail box so only he and one other recruit had received mail.
Richard, my son's letter came in Thursday as well (Div 816). Was thrilled to see it. He said the first time he had to write was the previous Sunday. My son talked about the mail we sent, so he must be the other one. Hope they get that fixed for everyone else. Fingers crossed we get first call tomorrow.
....and last night, the first call!! Very nice! Got to talk for about 40 minutes then "I gotta go, they're yelling at us."
Also found out the mail incident, I guess someone put the incoming mail in the outgoing mail box which was locked so they couldn't get it. They had to drill through the lock, then on the next inspection the inspector wasn't too happy about the missing lock on the mail box.
My son is in Division 816 as well. Haven't received a phone call or a letter from him personally as of yet. We did get the form letter indicating his address. My wife and I have written about ten letters between the two of us. As Eric stated, a push division has to be "hurried" to get caught up. Doesn't sound like the best position to be in to me. Good luck to all of you.
My sons PIR date is July 11th but he is in Division 815. Got the surprising phone call as well. Good to hear his voice and we can't wait to see him graduate. Good luck to your daughter.

I hope everyone else received calls as well.

My son also has same graduation date, but division 816. No phone call yet, but hoping for this weekend. Not sure what a push division is.
