Anyone with kids in this div? I'm not sure which one my son is in but he shipped out on the 13th, and was able to call home the following Sunday? I missed the call-sadly, but honestly wasnt expecting any call from him. My ex said she spoke with him as did my wife, adn both said he sounded great and that he said everything was fine, anyone else get a surprise call so early? I hope everything truly is fine.
edit--- ok, my ex found out from the recruiter that he's in Ship 14, Division 310 , so anyone with kids in this ship and div?

But I did find out his A school might be at the great lakes for 7 weeks and something about Pensacola after that for 21 weeks. He confused me. And that his Pass might be longer than he thought. He thinks his PIR will be until the 7th or 8th instead of the 6th. So i'm trying to find out to change my flight plans if that's correct. Our daughters 2nd b-day is the 7th so i hope he can see her for her birthday. Have you found out about your sons A school??

ticket change insurance is pretty reasonable and you might want to consider getting it....might be cheaper to spend the $20 bucks or so and be able to alter you flights than to have to pay the various fees if you need to change your PIR plans.....

so my ex and i received conflicting letters, and maybe we because the dynamics of our relationship vastly differ, shes always"babied" him, and i grew up with a father that told me to suck it up and drive on, and thats what i've always been like with him, so for our letters, he tells me everything is great,a nd going fine, but to her he said he's really homesick and ws having a hard time. i prefer to go with my letter, especially since she kind of embellishes especially with the baying...
sorry to rant, it just seems that I've found no other parents in the same div???
I received my 1st letter yesterday, and Chris said that he passed his swim test, and the two tests for e-1 to e-2. he said he's doing fine, and that while challenging, it's one day at a time, and just rollin with the punches. its amazing that actual letter writing is a lost art it seems.
