Son being sent home

We received a call from our son that shipped 11/6/12 that on the second day he was there he was put in medical. The dentist examined him and his tonsils were swollen. So since then they put him on anti-biotics and are now sending him home.
He is devastated to say the least. After nearly a year waiting for this date , it turns out this way.

My question, is I would think that the Navy would take his tonsils out and them put him back in a training division and dlay his PIR?

Any thoughts?

  • anybody leaving RTC gets a code as far as I know.....

  • I know RE-1a is a a good code, but he was never in, so he shouldn't have any code.
  • good advice guys...sorry for being brief last night....was the end to a veeeeery long difficult day at work!!! There are posts in that group where to look for that code...that will define whether he can re-enlist down the road.

  • I agree, get them removed, rehab him and give it another go.
  • check our ship 5 group...watch the re-enlistment code.... http://www.navydads.com/group/ship5formerlyship17
