Just got a call from our son. He is wrapping up A school in Pensacola and received his orders today. He is headed to NAF Atsugi, Japan. VFA-27. He (and us) is very excited. Hooyah!!

Yes, we are already talking about a trip. I spent some time in Japan when I was in the Navy. My wife (Also ex-Navy) has never been there. Looking forward to it.
Bob, congratulations to your son! Japan is full of culture and lots to do. One of my most memorable side trips in Japan was climbing Mt Fuju! No special gear (except cold weather) is required. Highly recommend spending a weekend doing this. We went up on a Saturday, spent the night at the summit and got up early to make the top in time for a spectacular sunrise. Hope you get a chance to visit too!
