I'm starting to get a sense of scale... I was thinking about the fact that some 40,000 Recruits are brought on board each year, and since they are in Boot Camp for two months, that would mean that at any given moment there are roughly 6500 Recruits in process at Great Lakes. Does that seem right?
I read also that each "ship" (barracks) has room for up to 1300 Recruits and each Division up to 88 members.
Are the recruit classes always of a certain standard size? Looks like 50, or 60 in the group. And then from what I an tell, there are several groups all going through training at the same time.

It's bigger than a breadbox.
Jack...my sons division is 77 strong...and divisions are integrated and non-integrated..by gender
As E.G. said, they could be housed in the same ship, however, they are in an all male or female compartment.
I have to disagree with E.G. about training. They do have some groups that are intermixed. It's not always just male only or female only.
Ed, they are housed and trained separately.
