My daughter got her orders today and she is to report to the John C. Stennis. My guess is that the Stennis will be deployed sometime early next year. She is currently "undesignated" due to some problems that occurred in her A-School.
I have plenty to say about that in that she was disciplined for something quite minor while others got away with a great deal more. I am VERY disappointed in the instructional culture of the A-School in San Antonio. I think something has to be wrong when 22 sailors are sent to Captains Mast/NJP. She was put on 30 days restriction, lost her rate (MA), and lost two months pay.
As I understand it, she and the others were made an example of. It's unfortunate that the Command let things get so lax that they had to make these kids pay like they did. My opinion or the U.S. Navy is quite low right now. All of that said, I am hopeful that she can make the best of this and eventually strike for a rate that she wants. Any advice that you can give me on this would be appreciated.
