I am new to this forum and would like to ask a question. My son was stationed on the East coast Norfolk, he was the selected for an immediate deployment, when he gets back he will be on the West coast Point Mugu I have his vehicle. Does the Navy pay for transport of the vehicle? It will be a PCS.

Thank you for this
I did find this link: http://www.defensetravel.dod.mil/site/faqpovconus.cfm
don't have a clue...best to call them and ask...........
Does it work like that for a CONUS PCS or just for OCONUS PCS
they should pay for 1 POV (privately owned vehicle)....I just did the same thing as I had my son's Trailblazer SS for a while after he x'fred to Hawaii from Norfolk. I dove it to San Diego and the Navy shipped it to Honolulu. there a several official sites to drop vehicles off for transfer....there is also obviously a bunch of paperwork that needs to be done to do so.....
here is a link to the company that handles everything: https://www.whereismypov.com/index.asp
once all the paperwork is handled beforehand the process was a piece of cake....was only at the office for about 30 minutes.
I would spend some time on their site and give them a call to see what you and he need to do. You will need a hard copy of his orders but he should be able to download those from BUPERS and email those to you.....
