We thought we might do something a little different this year and start a discussion area where folks could paste some "Words of Remembrance" or prayers for the lost from 9-11. We all hold dark memories from that day, but while the scope of the tragedy unfolded, we also saw the very best of America-- story after story about heroic people stepping forward and doing what Americans have done for generations....they came to volunteer and help without hesitation or question. Use this area to record your words or memories of that horrific day and offer a prayer for the lost and their families.

Thanks Dick for posting.....embarrassed to say I had forgotten I had started this discussion- so glad you found it and by posting made me reread everything others posted about that day.....our generation's day of infamy
Maybe it would be a good time to reread the replies to the 9/11 posts and how we felt. Has anything changed? Can't believe what we're doing to out country right now.
This should NEVER BE ALLOWED TO HAPPEN. We suffer enough disinformation from those in charge of our Republic - a POTUS that apologizes for the greatness of our country and a legislature that does not think for their constituents but for those who give the highest amounts of moola to their cause (those who line their deep pockets)...
Rant over. I am sorry to hijack the thread.

'MEET ME IN THE STAIRWELL'
You say you will ne...ver forget where you were when you heard the news On September 11, 2001. Neither will I.
I was on the 110th floor in a smoke filled room with a man who called his wife to say 'Good-Bye.' I held his fingers steady as he dialed. I gave him the peace to say,
'Honey, I am not going to make it, but it OK..I am ready to go.'
I was with his wife when he called as she fed breakfast to their children. I held her up as she tried to understand his words and as she realized he wasn't coming home that night.
I was in the stairwell of the 23rd floor when a woman cried out to Me for help.
'I have been knocking on the door of your heart for 50 years!' I said.
'Of course I will show you the way home - only believe in Me now.'
I was at the base of the building with the Priest ministering to the injured and devastated souls. I took him home to tend to his Flock in Heaven. He heard my voice and answered.
I was on all four of those planes, in every seat, with every prayer.
I was with the crew as they were overtaken.
I was in the very hearts of the believers there, comforting and assuring them that their faith has saved them.
I was in Texas, Virginia, California, Michigan, Afghanistan.
I was standing next to you when you heard the terrible news. Did you sense Me? I want you to know that I saw every face. I knew every name - though not all knew Me.
Some met Me for the first time on the 86th floor.
Some sought Me with their last breath.
Some couldn't hear Me calling to them through the smoke and flames;
'Come to Me... this way... take my hand.'
Some chose, for the final time, to ignore Me. But, I was there.
I did not place you in the Tower that day.
You may not know why, but I do.
However, if you had been there in that explosive moment in time, would you have reached for Me?
Sept. 11, 2001, was not the end of the journey for you. But someday your journey will end. And I will be there for you as well.
Seek Me now while I may be found. Then, at any moment, you know you are 'ready to go.'
I will be in the stairwell of your final moments.
GOD
This is Awesome Cora!!!! Thank you so much for posting this! Lord Bless!!!
As it turns out 9/11 is the first day of my son's enlistment in the Navy in 2008. So the date marks for me great pride in my son and the choices he has made. But it also brings great sadness remembering what happened to so many wonderful innocent people.
When we went to break (I live on the west side of the country) everybody and I mean EVERYBODY was in a stunned silence. There were a hundred or so guys working in that area and you could almost hear a pin drop from the silence...it was very crazy to say the least. All of the big construction guys staring off into nana land, stunned. We did not have access to a TV, there were radio reports that we were listening to. The hospital actually went on a special reaction type of thing...kinda like code red, code blue, code pink...I think that they called it code black and ALL of the administrators were in their little command structure like that (snapping a finger)...
GOD Bless the United States of America...Our Republic
GOD Bless the families of those who perished that fateful day, as well as, those who have since died from inhaling all of that asbestos and other debris that buggered up their lungs.
GODSPEED to US all!
As a side note...my wife was at home and watched the 2nd plane fly into the tower. She was in tears for most of that day and the next thinking about what she had just witnessed...
His wife was so very upset. He saved my life as a result of that visit. The fear and sadness in his office wads tangible.
I had a hobby prior to 9-11. I don't know why, but that day I stopped doing it. The equipment still sits on the shelves.
My major memory is of a poem written in honor
Of the rescue workers. It describes the boots running up the stairs as the tenants ran down.
When my son graduated C School, the Commander of the training center said how special it is in his rating. Not
Only joining in a time of war, but this rating is running to the sound of the guns. Like the boots going up as the shoes ran down.
