My daughter is serving her first deployment on the uss bataan.Since she got on the ship I have heard from her ether in an e-mail or a phone call at least once a week. The last time we spoke she said she was going to send me an email the next day. That never happened and it has been two weeks since I have heardfrom her. When we spoke last it sounded like she was struggling with sleep and who're down. IS THIS NORMAL or should I be worried? Thanks for any input anybody can give me.

totally normal- their work days are very busy and you do not know what the location or current mission for the ship is. Technical issue my be preventing email or they may be in OPSEC condition....when my son was on cruise on the Theodore Roosevelt, Karzai was going to visit the ship- due to security concerns ALL comm was shut down for more than 4 weeks.....know it is hard but this is part of being a Navy parent....I'm sure all is ok and you'll hear from her soon with an explanation!
