Yokosuka, Japan

I've been with my boyfriend for almost three years and I have many concerns. I know about all the curfews and rules for A-School, as I visited him several times when he was in Pensacola. My concerns now are running through my heard about him living in the barracks on the Yokosuka Naval Base in Japan. I tried googling everywhere about certain questions and I can't seem to find the answers. He is an E-1 and in the Aviation section (ABH to be exact). I just would like to know, how often he'll be able to get on his computer and email me. Is there any type of cellular service over there, where he could have his own phone and be able to call and text me here in the states. Also, I know they cannot move off base until they are an E-4, so I was just wondering if they had any curfews during the weekend and weekdays. Also, all of my friends keep concerning me with military cheating stories. So, because I'm a girl, I'm gonna worry about my man being around all those single guys while on deployment. Is it true about all they do on deployments on the weekends is go out and sleep with women. I just would like to hear from other military wives and girlfriends who known the rules about the navy barracks and all of that stuff.

  • I can answer the question about the phone service. I work for the DoD and was in Yokosuka a couple years ago and there are land lines phones for international calls that are available. I know this reply is 2 years too late, but I just became a member 2 days ago. All sailors have access to the NMCI network, which is e-mail and web serches can be made.
