My grandaughter is currently in A-school in Pensacola with a ABH rating. She would like to be assigned to the west coast as her first assignment. Any thoughts on her getting her choice of assignments based on her rating. Ship or land based?

My son is an ABH who just finished A school in Pcola. He came home for 2 weeks and I dropped him off for his carrier duty on the East Coast. He said that performance in A school rewards Sailors with choice of available positions. He was 4th in his class and received his 1st choice. Good luck to your granddaughter.
When I dropped my son off at the base I was able to tour the carrier with him and it was truly inspiring.
