A School Information

I was wondering if my son Eddy would get leave after boot camp before he reports to "A" school in Maryland. He is due to PIR on Friday July 6 and we were wondering how long we could visit him.

    Typically, they fly out Monday morning for A school, so you get the weekend. Right before PIR our son got orders to fly out Saturday morning, early. We only got to see him Friday afternoon.

    That should work since they tend to get dropped off in the middle of the night ( my son was dropped off at o'hare at 2:00am) and we got there at 5:30am and stayed until his flight left for Va at 11:00am. We flew in and out of Milwaukee less crowded and less expensive and about a 45 min drive to Great Lakes

    Well I guess I'll book a room for Thursday thru Saturday and just head on back to North Carolina after he flies out. Hope his flight is early!

    You can spend the day Friday with him after PIR until he returns to base. You can then meet him at the airport and hang out with him and wait until he boards his plane with a security pass on Saturday. The time goes by very quickly but is really special.

    he'll probably ship out Saturday morning, but clearly he'll know by PIR.....
