Bum knee

Just got a letter from my son today. I was looking for it since his letters usually arrive here on Thursday, and sure enough, there it was. He says he's back on limited duty because of a sore knee, and was going to have it looked at more extensively the next day. Sorry for him, but sorry for me, too, as I'll be on pins and needles until learning the outcome of this, and mail only comes once a week. Big sigh. ... It sure is tough getting your news piecemeal like this. Must be sort of what it was like back in the days of the Pony Express, waiting for news about some crisis that's likely already resolved and building toward some new disaster, which you'll find out about two weeks later.
